Northern Nigeria the established home of Nigerian politics, with a land area that covers more than half the country's land mass. 660.000km2 out of the 993.000km2 of the country is covered by the north, northern Nigeria is home to many historical and political events, 10 out of the 16 post-colonial rulers have come from the north starting from the first and only prime minister the country has laid host to.     Among the many good things about the region there must be a lot of negativity infact it is fair to say the region has witnessed more negativity from 1960 till date. Northern Nigeria holds at least 80 percent of the country's poverty rate, it's population mostly illiterate, it was also responsible for the killing of over three thousand Igbo living in the north a massacre that led to the Nigerian civil war.
